KING PENGUINS EXTENSION 2027

COMPLETE YOUR PATAGONIA JOURNEY WITH KING PENGUINS IN TIERA DEL FUEGO, A PERFECT ENDING TO YOUR TRIP

Extend your Patagonian adventure with a visit to one of South America’s most extraordinary wildlife spectacles: the only breeding colony of King Penguins on the continent. Located on the remote shores of Bahía Inútil in Chilean Tierra del Fuego, this small but thriving colony offers a rare opportunity to observe these elegant birds without traveling to the remote subantarctic islands where the vast majority of the world’s population breeds. From specially designed viewing areas, we photograph the penguins from remarkably close range, allowing for outstanding photographic opportunities of adults in their striking silver, black, and golden plumage alongside their fluffy brown chicks.

This short extension takes you across the legendary Strait of Magellan into the wild landscapes of Tierra del Fuego, where windswept beaches, open steppe, and dramatic southern scenery create a spectacular backdrop for wildlife photography. Carefully designed to fit seamlessly after our main Patagonia tour, it adds another iconic Southern Hemisphere species to your portfolio while exploring one of the least-visited and most fascinating corners of South America.
