This lodge plays a vital role in rainforest conservation by protecting a large, well-preserved tract of Amazon forest in an area surrounded by deforestation, cattle pastures, and agricultural fields. This green sanctuary stands as a critical refuge for biodiversity, providing safe habitat for countless species that have lost ground elsewhere. Among its most remarkable conservation successes is the protection of the elusive and iconic Mittermeier’s Tapajós Saki Monkey—a primate found only in this region and severely threatened by habitat loss.
