July 27 – Arrival in Cuiabá / Transfer to Aymará Lodge
Meet your guide upon arrival at Cuiabá Airport (CGB) and transfer to Aymará Lodge (approximately 3 hours).
In the afternoon, enjoy your first photography session around the lodge’s gardens, feeders, and nearby trails.

July 28 – Aymará Lodge
Full day exploring the Aymará Lodge surroundings. Activities vary according to local wildlife activity—such as nesting birds, mammals visiting fruiting trees, or other seasonal highlights.
In the afternoon, visit a hide where a variety of animals often come to drink, offering excellent photo opportunities.

July 29 – Transfer to Porto Jofre
After breakfast, transfer to Porto Jofre (~3.5 hours), stopping along the Transpantaneira Road for photography.
Lunch at the hotel upon arrival, followed by an afternoon session photographing around the hotel gardens—an excellent area for Hyacinth Macaws, Toco Toucans, and other Pantanal favorites.

July 30 to August 02 – Jaguar Photography on the Rivers
Spend four full days dedicated to searching for and photographing wild Jaguars along the rivers and channels around Porto Jofre—the best place in the world for close and frequent Jaguar encounters.
Boat outings take place early in the morning and again in the afternoon until dusk, with a midday break for lunch and rest. You’ll also have opportunities to photograph Giant Otters, caimans, capybaras, kingfishers, and countless bird species.

August 03 – Transfer to Cuiabá
After a relaxed breakfast and some final photo opportunities around the hotel, begin the journey back to Cuiabá (~6 hours), enjoying wildlife sightings along the way. Upon arrival, check in at Hotel Amazon, conveniently located just across from the airport, for an overnight stay.

August 04 – End of tour
After breakfast, the tour concludes. Transfer to the airport for your morning flight to São Paulo or onward to your next destination.

AYMARÁ LODGE

This is a charming property, offering excellent photographic opportunities right around its grounds. The lodge’s gardens, feeders, and nearby trails attract a wide variety of birds and mammals, making it easy to capture stunning images without venturing far.

In addition to its rich birdlife, Aymará is one of the best places in the region to spot the elusive Ocelot, which occasionally visits the lodge area, especially at night. Its peaceful setting, diverse wildlife, and convenient access make it a perfect first stop for photographers exploring the Pantanal.

HOTEL PORTO JOFRE

The best hotel on the Porto Jofre region, located on the edges of the Cuiabá River and with their own air strip. The hotel is ample, with good, large rooms and common areas. Food is excellent and with many options.

The boat where we go out on river cruises is large and spacious, very stable. It is equipped with modern and fast 4-stroke engine and radio to communicate with other boats on the river. The boat drivers are very competent at positioning the boat for photos and excellent Jaguar spotters.

This group tour might not be ideal if you prefer to do things entirely your own way — in that case, a private tour could suit you better. It also helps to enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds, as we’ll be traveling with an international group.

Please note that the trip includes two private flights (Cessna Caravan) and two commercial flights, so it may not be for you if you’re uncomfortable with small planes. The experience may also involve hot weather, long hours outdoors, and some uneven terrain, which can be challenging for travelers with severe limited mobility or those very sensitive to heat or motion sickness.

Because we spend so much time in nature, you should also feel at ease around insects and small creatures. And while our lodges are comfortable and authentic, among the best in the areas we visit, they’re not luxurious.
