Jun 29: We will get an afternoon flight this day from São Paulo Int’l to Cuiabá, so you may arrive on this same morning. We still can’t confirm the time of flight as it may change, but the plan is to get a flight at 16:20. Night and dinner at Hotel Amazon, in front of the Cuiabá Airport. [Incl.: dinner]

Jun 30: After breakfast we get the chartered flight to Porto Jofre Hotel, this is a ~40 min flight through North Pantanal. The hotel is considered the best in the region, with excellent structure and equipments. The same is true for our smaller boat used for the river cruises, very spacious and comfortable, equipped with modern 4-stroke engine and radio. Afternoon looking for Jaguars and other wildlife along the myriad of rivers and canals of this region. [Incl.: brkfst., lunch, dinner]

Jul 01 to 07: Seven full days of boat outings for Jaguar and much more. Expect a lot of different Jaguar sightings (average 3 per day or more). While our focus will be Jaguars, we will also see and photograph other animals like  Giant Otters, Capybaras, Tapir and lots of birds. We normally return to the house boat for lunch, going out again in the afternoon. On a few days we may choose to stay out the whole day, carrying boxed lunches. [Incl.: brkfst., lunch, dinner]

Jul 08: After breakfast chartered flight back to Cuiabá and commercial flight back to São Paulo Int’l, arriving around 16:00. Check our optional Atlantic Rainforest extension (to be announced) as well for incredible bird photography in a completely different environment.  [Incl.: brkfst., lunch]

HOTEL PORTO JOFRE

The best hotel on the Porto Jofre region, located on the edges of the Cuiabá River and with their own air strip. The hotel is ample, with very good, large rooms and common areas. Food is excellent and with many options.

The boat where we go out on river cuises is large and spacious, very stable. It is equipped with modern and fast 4-stroke engine and radio to communicate wth other boats on the river. The boat drivers are very competent at positioning the boat for photos and excellent Jaguar spotters.
